Testimony: Rachel Ciano

Rachel CianoI became a Christian when I was 16 years old. I grew up in a non-Christian home and heard the Gospel, the good news about Jesus at school. I prayed every night but didn't understand Jesus Christ or the Gospel. At High School, my friend Claire and my Scripture teacher explained that we were saved through grace, not works. At 15 or 16, I knew I needed to make a decision and I chose Jesus.

Claire's sister asked me if I wanted to go to church - there I met my future husband, Ross. I started to read the Bible. I went to university and by going along to the Christian Union, it really contributed to my faith. 2 years later my sister became a Christian, then a year later, so did my Mum. We are still praying for my Dad.

Jesus Christ has really changed my life - I live to please my Saviour - not myself. I am no longer concerned in trying to make the best life for myself - I focus on heavenly priorities. This means that I want to spend my life sharing Jesus Christ with others, whatever I am doing and wherever I am. I have become more patient and speak nicely to my parents and serve them more.
